Somewhere in our chat history is every version of the same question: six venues, one night — which one? It’s the message we get more than any other, and it deserves a better answer than a name and a shrug, because the things that actually matter — the room formats, the closing times, what each house genuinely does best — are exactly the things a name doesn’t tell you.
So here’s the long answer, written down once: all six houses, in the order the current scene took shape — the venue that kicked off the 2026 wave first, the two that chased it, then the three established doors that were here before any of them. On pricing, the honest answer is that packages run from around MOP 1,000 to 4,000+ depending on venue and package, and the number moves with the night — which is why prices follow the current menu confirmed when you book, and the quote is what you pay.
Number Nine Spa — the one that started the wave
Number Nine is where the current chapter begins: April 2026, Royal Dragon Hotel, central Macau. Before the other newcomers made their entrances, this was the opening everyone was messaging us about — and its stage is still the quickest answer to “what’s different about it?” A live fashion-show format with proper stage lighting and LED backdrops, cycling through selection rounds all evening, so the main hall never sits still. Watch one round from the lounge and the appeal explains itself.
Around the stage it’s a thoroughly modern build — themed suites with props that commit fully to each concept, spotless wet areas, a generous recliner lounge — and it runs 24 hours with overnight stays welcome. For a first-timer who wants a bit of spectacle with the evening, it’s an easy recommendation.
Manhao Spa — the reason we keep sending taxis to Taipa
Manhao followed at the start of May 2026, taking over part of Taipa’s Grandview Hotel — about five minutes from the Cotai strip. The look is pure boutique hotel: a gold crown monogram set into veined marble, mural-wrapped corridors, a marble dining lobby.
What justifies the bridge crossing, though, is the introduction hall — the largest of its kind in Macau, built like a small theatre with balcony levels rising above the floor and the whole space washed in cobalt light. Nowhere else stages a lineup this way. The suites carry the same maximal instinct, pairing a proper bedroom setup with the spotlit crimson waterbed everyone asks about.
One planning note before you fall for it: doors open at 2 PM and close at 6 AM, and there are no overnight stays. Brilliant evening venue; just book your bed elsewhere.
Empire Sauna — the easiest yes in our chat
Empire closed out the trio of openings on 15 May 2026 on the peninsula, and it arrived loudly: a build reported at HK$80 million, marble bath pools, and a design that lands somewhere between modern luxury and oriental zen. Everything still feels new because it is.
Two things define it. First, the suites — hotel-grade theme rooms with the venue’s signature waterbed as the party trick. Second, the ease: the flow is simple — and we handle the whole booking in English anyway — while the free dining room (steak, seafood, noodles, soups — properly free) means the night doesn’t need an intermission. It runs 24 hours, overnight is welcome, and a 5% service charge plus a 5% tourism tax are added on top of the listed price at checkout.
If it’s your first Macau sauna, this is the one we point to most.
That’s the 2026 class. The other three doors were open long before the wave — and each has kept a specialty the newcomers haven’t matched.
Majesty Spa — for when the group chat gets involved
Majesty holds two titles no other door in this guide can claim. It’s the most lavishly decorated sauna in Macau — one look at the chandeliered bath pool settles that argument — and it’s the only one of the six where KTV party rooms can turn a spa night into a full group night.
The format is distinctive too: no stage here — the lobby showcase walks the lineup right up to where you’re sitting, close enough for a conversation. From there you’re choosing between ten-plus theme rooms — cosplay themes alongside Egyptian, Chinese-wedding, gym and medical sets. It runs 24 hours, overnight is fine, and the service charge is already inside the listed price — the menu figure is the figure on the bill.
Bring friends. This is the venue that gets better with company.
Shang Pin Spa — the regulars’ quiet favourite
Shang Pin is the answer we give when someone messages us from a Lisboeta Macau room number — it’s downstairs, more or less. Even with that address it stays strangely under-discussed. The environment is polished and modern and the Japanese-style bubble bath is a specialty none of the other five offer.
Where Shang Pin really earns its keep is stamina. It’s open 24 hours with a true overnight lounge — recliners you can genuinely sleep on until morning, plus paid private rest rooms if you want a door that closes. Land late, walk in at 2 AM, wake up in Cotai: that itinerary works here.
The Excellent Sauna — the just-landed special
The Excellent works a different clock. It sits in the Grand Emperor Hotel’s main building and opens at noon — the earliest start of the six, which is why it owns the “my flight landed at 9 AM” messages — then runs until 4 AM, so overnight stays aren’t part of the deal.
Inside, it’s deliberately compact: a quality-first operation rather than a megaclub, with a curated multinational team and free dining that keeps serving right up to the 4 AM close. The signature move is the scene-room upgrade — Japanese-theme rooms plus a DJ booth, office, cinema and hospital set, available for a small fixed supplement rather than as a theme you’re locked into; ask us which packages include them. Quietly one of the best value plays in town.
How the rooms actually differ
Strip away the branding and you’re choosing between four formats. Every venue has the baseline — bath, sauna, lounge, treatment rooms. Waterbed suites are the Empire and Manhao specialty. Theme and scenario rooms belong to Majesty, Number Nine and The Excellent, each handling them differently: built-in variety at Majesty, concept suites at Number Nine, pay-per-scene upgrades at The Excellent. And showcase formats split between Manhao’s grand hall, Number Nine’s stage and Majesty’s up-close lobby parade.
None of these is “best.” A quiet marble evening and a KTV party are both perfect nights — for different people.
The free mini-service, and why booking through us matters
Every venue keeps a menu of small add-on services — back scrubs, head and foot massages, leg and hand massages, manicures, pedicures, ear cleaning. Walk in on your own and each one is a paid extra.
Book through us and at least one is on the house. Empire, Number Nine, Manhao, Shang Pin and The Excellent each give you two free; at Majesty you pick one. There are no carve-outs — the count is the same whichever package you take. We arrange it when we confirm your booking, so just tell us which you’d like. That’s on top of the standing arrangements every booking gets — free shuttle anywhere in Macau and waived entry fees. None of it costs you anything; the venues pay us, not you.
Who can sleep over
The short version: Empire, Shang Pin, Number Nine and Majesty run 24 hours with free overnight lounges, plus paid private rest rooms if you want real privacy. Manhao closes at 6 AM and The Excellent at 4 AM, so treat those two as evening venues and plan the bed separately.
Used well, an overnight venue quietly replaces a hotel night — plenty of our guests book a 24-hour house for exactly that reason.
